Catching Thin Air

This week I feel like my mind has taken the wheel and left me in the backseat of it all. Thoughts and ideas are just coming out of nowhere and in the most unusual places. Some people call it "inspiration". I call it "an obvious moment of inconvenience". Seriously, why does the idea for something with potential greatness happen in the shower? Or driving on the freeway? Or in a darkroom where you have no control over the lighting? Its a cruel trick. Its like your is mind saying "haha... I have something for you and your not ready for it, and oh yeah! I'm taking it away in 5 minutes." The WORST is when its lurking in your mind at 2AM when your expected to wake up early. You tear yourself apart trying to decide, "Do I take care of it now, get lost in the moment and ruin tomorrow? Or! Write a quick note to HOPEFULLY remind myself when I get around to it (and then never get around to it)?" Its a nightmare... and your really living it.
Lately it seems there has been a lot to read about when it comes to memory loss; along with those 'Magical Super Smart Pills' that will increase your brain functioning. I guess I would consider using these, putting aside the side effects seen in movies. Then again, where is the fun in that? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being right, but sometimes, its worth it to be wrong, to not have all the answers. Plus, can you genuinely feel appreciative for a job well done when you use the support of a pill that just lets you otherwise be lazy? Lets face it, our minds need a daily 'work out' to keep up with the ideas that want to pour out of them. I like group interaction, it gives me energy. Making all the decisions on my own gets boring, and seriously irritating when I'm looking for opinions.
Nobody likes the exact same thing. Just because I know its awesome, doesn't mean my neighbor will like it. Which is why inspiration is so important! I want to discover how to create something that my neighbor will like, something their relative will like, and something that the obscure relation to that relative will like.
Inspiration is truly necessary, and I just have to find a way to capture it long enough to understand and know it. If the Karate Kid can catch a fly in chopsticks, then I can catch an idea (somehow).
